The LDABC is very proud to announce its first ever video series, Stories of Hope!

Stories of Hope is a series of video interviews produced by LDABC with the help of Alan Fryer. Featured in the interviews are individuals with LD, as well as those who work with those with LD, speaking of their experiences.

A new video will be released every Wednesday until the last week of July, so make sure to check back to LDABC.ca every week!

The Annual General Meeting of the Learning Disabilities Association was held on June 5^th at Kwantlen College in Richmond.  In attendance were the members of the board with representation from chapters, as well as directors at large. Many others, including advisors, consultants, staff and interested guests were present.

A treasurer’s report was approved and an election was conducted.

Reports from chapters showed growth and optimism in the six regions, South Vancouver Island, Vancouver, Fraser South, Fraser North, Williams Lake, Fraser Lake NW and Vernon.

Presentations included the video “Stories of Hope” a moving selection of interviews by Alan Fryer.  Based on the book series by Leslie Coull, these will be posted on LDABC.ca soon.

Marketing and training opportunities were presented, as well a board building exercise by Ben Kadel, a long time supporter of LDA efforts.

There were also updates on communications, with the new LDABC.ca website unveiled. Although not at the meeting, Danny Wood, Online Communications Officer, provided a walk-through via dial-in.
